Uncompromising quality and innovative design - these are the parameters that we have set ourselves to meet. We will be showing the results this year at Zona Tortona, the creative heart of the International Furniture Exhibition in Milan. In this setting, where exceptionally creative and experimental designers put their worlds and products on view, our exhibition shows our conception of contemporary living. In this connection we have been developing our knowledge on an ongoing basis for 125 years, always adapting our materials and techniques to the needs of the time. For us carpets are more than just a floor covering - they are objects that shape ambient space and define its charactersitics.

Partnership with Atelier Oï
The exhibition is being mounted in an empty warehouse. It has been impressively set up by the architecture and design studio Atelier Oï. ‘Ruckstuhl’s current collection,’ says Patrick Reymond of Atelier Oï, ‘is something completely new, a hybrid that hovers between carpeting and furniture.’ So it was a fascinating project for the design team to present the carpets as flying three-dimensional objects. Barely suspended from threads, they reveal the spectacular structure of the materials of which they are composed - felt, wood and linen strips. Reymond comments: ‘We wanted to show the flexibility that lies behind the creation of these unusual material combinations.’
